CALL TO ORDER: Chair Madden called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL: Present were Chair Alyssa Madden, Vice-Chair Bruce Mulder, and Commissioners Blythe Lind, Sandra Myers and Eileen Hofstadt. Staff members present were: Roger Stromgren, Park/Maintenance Manager; and Linda Stadlbauer, Administrative Assistant II.



1. Approve minutes of regular meeting of October 25, 2012.
2. Accept the results of Ellis & Associates audit of the Brentwood Family Aquatic Complex. (M. Kaiser)

3. ACTION ITEM: Approve one of four listed options and recommend staff to work with Standard Pacific Homes to move forward on the Barrington Subdivision Dog Park. (R. Stromgren)

After discussion, Commissioners agreed that they prefer Option #2, but that the percentage of decomposed granite to turf be 50/50, and to have two additional benches at each corner of the park.

 Motion to accept Item 3 of Scheduled Matters, with the above stipulations.

4. ACTION ITEM: Approve a plan change to Park Parcels E and P, and approve staff to work with the subcommittee and Standard Pacific Homes on design changes for Barrington Subdivision Shade Structures/Safety Surfacing. (R. Stromgren)

5. ACTION ITEM: Approve Measure WW park shade project with a “Not to Exceed” dollar amount, approve the established list of parks, establish project name and recommend staff to take the project to City Council for approval to apply for the East Bay Regional Parks grant funds. (R. Stromgren)

Roger Stromgren reported that the Veterans Park All Abilities Playground is moving forward; the pirate ship should be delivered by next week. The bocce court renovations should begin soon, and the new dog play/exercise equipment at King Park should also be done, barring rain.

Commissioner Lind complimented the Veterans Day Celebration activities at Veterans Park.

Commissioner Mulder complimented the upgrades at King Park, and commented that Casper (Movie in the Park), was great.

Chair Hofstadt complimented Roger Stromgren and staff on all of their hard work on these projects, and that shade will be very appreciated by residents.

Commissioner Myers expressed her concerns about the City’s expectations regarding the park standards to which we hold developers.

Chair Madden reminded everyone that the Annual Christmas Parade is on Saturday, at 2pm. She is also looking forward to the Drop-Off Daycare program at the Community Center on December 8th.
