CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL - Chair Fuller called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

PRESENTATION(S) - None

PUBLIC COMMENTS - None

CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed on the consent calendar are considered routine in nature and will be enacted by one motion. If discussion is required, that particular item will be removed from the consent calendar and will be considered separately.

1. Approve regular meeting minutes of April 10, 2013.

SCHEDULED MATTERS
2. ACTION ITEM: Appoint and approve a new secretary.
Karen Nunez volunteered for the position of secretary.

3. DISCUSSION ITEM: Update from the subcommittee for the National Night Out Program.
(Klement, Koski, Palestro)

Criteria should be established for selecting a winner of National Night Out Spirit Award. It was agreed that all participants should be included in the drawing for the winner. Task list for National Night Out to be reviewed and updated.

4. DISCUSSION ITEM: Update from the subcommittee assigned to the Dog Parade.
(Fuller, Klement, Naturel-Staton)

Theme is “Bark in the Park”. Potential dates are August 17 or 24. Criteria and judging for the winners of the dog parade to be developed and submitted to the BANC committee.

 

 

5. DISCUSSION ITEM: Update from the subcommittee assigned to create a community/bumper sticker.
(McHugh, Naturel-Staton, Nunez)

Decision made by the committee that the giveaway be a decal due to environmental issues as well as usage by the citizens of Brentwood. Subcommittee was asked to contact the Chamber of Commerce regarding a partnership. Action Plan requested including a timeline which would have the decal available by the end of the year.

6. DISCUSSION ITEM: Continue discussion of BANC’s direction and purpose as an advisory committee.

INFORMATIONAL REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS, SUBCOMMITTEES AND LIAISONS
Member Smith shared about the Fire Board and recent activities. He also gave a transportation update regarding State 239 (Brentwood to 205 Freeway).
