CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Naturel-Staton called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m.

PRESENTATION(S)

ANNOUNCEMENT(S)
Staff Liaison Gary introduced Mayor Taylor as the new City Council Representative for BANC.

CITIZEN COMMENTS
Resident Cathy Case was in attendance and expressed her interest in BANC, however, she indicated she does not have time to pursue membership at this time would like to help in some capacity.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Approve regular meeting minutes of December 12, 2012.

Motion to approve the consent calendar.

SCHEDULED MATTERS
2. DISCUSSION ITEM: Discuss BANC’s direction and purpose as an advisory committee.

Director of Parks and Recreation, Craig Bronzan, welcome Mayor Taylor to BANC. Mayor Taylor shared his goal of bringing more members to BANC and suggested that BANC members talk to neighbors, friends, and business contacts to raise awareness of additional members. Also discussed were ideas to bring residents downtown to use City Park. A variety of activities were suggested, including music, art shows or classes, magic shows and singing performances.

3. ACTION ITEM: Determine the committee’s interest in offering the 2013 Home of the Month program and if interested, determine format and approve a budget not to exceed $750 to purchase program supplies.

Discussion included changing the program to focus on seasons, such as spring, summer, fall and the Christmas holiday. The committee requested tabling this agenda item until the February meeting so that exact costs for program supplies could be determined. No action taken.

4. ACTION ITEM: Nomination and selection of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Representative for 2013.

A vote was taken and each position was accepted as listed.

INFORMATIONAL REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS, SUBCOMMITTEES AND LIAISONS
Mayor Taylor reported that that Highway 4 Bypass work is moving along. When finished, there will no longer be lights at Sand Creek to slow traffic. Home values are increasing in the city and home inventory is decreasing.
