CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL - Chair Fuller called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENTS - None
INFORMATIONAL REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS, SUBCOMMITTEES AND LIAISONS
Barbie Gary mentioned that the last Concert in the Park on Friday, August 16 will be in combination with Play Day in the Park. City Park turned 125 years old this year.
Michele Keady invited committee members to attend a Public Safety Forum on Saturday, August 17.
Steve Smith mentioned that the Fire District has come to resolution with the union. A Service Model Committee has been formed to discuss how to live within their means and five stations.
B. CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed on the consent calendar are considered routine in nature and will be enacted by one motion. If discussion is required, that particular item will be removed from the consent calendar and will be considered separately.
B.1 Approve regular meeting minutes of July 10, 2013.

C. SCHEDULED MATTERS
C.1 DISCUSSION ITEM: Review the National Night Out event, which took place on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. (M. Keady)
Four groups, which included BANC and City Council members, toured participating neighborhoods. Spirit Award was given to the Sterling Preserve neighborhood. Cathy Palestro shared her positive experience with National Night Out but mentioned they were unable to visit Marsh Creek Apartments.
C.2 DISCUSSION ITEM: Review the Bark in the Park event scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2013 at City Park. (Fuller, Klement, Naturel-Staton)
Subcommittee acknowledged staff for their work on the event and noted that everything is in motion. Committee members should arrive at City Park by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Adopt-A-Pet Parade will be held at 10:30 a.m. Banners have been posted. The following assignments were made: Steve/Maria – Water; Karen/Cathy – Registration; Shelley/Arthur – Refreshments. Four cadets from the Police Department will be in attendance.
C.3 UPDATE: Receive update from the subcommittee assigned to create a BANC decal. (McHugh, Naturel-Station, Nunez)
