The purpose of the committee was discussed and members requested more communication and direction from the City Council on projects or issues BANC should focus on. Parks and Recreation Director, Craig Bronzan, shared how BANC has evolved over the years and how their focus and direction may need to change with the times and expansion of the City. He encouraged the committee to engage the new City Council representative that will be appointed to BANC in early January. The committee also reviewed their involvement with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, their disappointment in their role at this year’s event, and their interest in volunteering in the 2013 event.

3. DISCUSSION ITEM: Review the Home of the Season contest for the December Home of the Month award before viewing and selecting the 2012 winner.

The date of December 12, 2012 had been previously determined to review the nominations for the Home of the Season contest. Staff Liaison Keady reviewed the guidelines/criteria for judging each of the 14 nominated homes. The committee will visit each of the homes at the conclusion of the meeting to select one winner.
