CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 6:06 p.m.

ROLL CALL: Members Johnny Staton, Steve Smith, Claudette Naturel-Staton, Alfredo Garcia, Tammy Lynn Misenheimer, Cecilia Skuza, Angela Waters, and Cheryl Nickerson were present. Staff Liaisons Barbie Gary and Michele Keady were also present. Member Rick Fuller was absent.

PRESENTATIONS: None

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Staff Liaison Gary invited BANC members to attend the Downtown Streetscape Groundbreaking Ceremony on Friday, November 19, 2010.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Approve regular meeting minutes of October 13, 2010. Angela Waters noted that she had been left off the roll call. Motion to approve the minutes, with the correction of adding Angela to the roll call, made by Cheryl Nickerson and seconded by Cecilia Skuza. Motion approved 8-0.

SCHEDULED MATTERS
2. ACTION ITEM: Determine details related to offering the annual Home of the Season contest for the December Home of the Month award and appoint a subcommittee to select the home. Staff Liaison Gary will email members as she receives online nominations for the December Home of the Month and encouraged members to also keep an eye out for homes decorated for the holidays. The group decided to individually view homes and then decide as a group which home would be selected as the 2010 winner. Members suggested adding a holiday gift basket to the items awarded to the winning homeowner. Motion to approve $40 to purchase a gift basket and select December 13th as the deadline for nomination submittals with the presentation scheduled for December 20th made by Cheryl Nickerson. Motion seconded by Cecilia Skuza and approved 8-0.

3. ACTION ITEM: Discuss and approve cancelling BANC meetings in December 2010 and February 2011. BANC members agreed that agendas for the months of December 2010 and February 2011 would be light and a motion to cancel both meetings was made by Steve Smith and seconded by Cecilia Skuza. Motion approved 8-0.

4. DISCUSSION ITEM: Discuss alternative meeting sites and potential tours or presenters for future BANC meetings. Members discussed a variety of potential speakers and site tours they would be interested in for 2011, including:
• John Marsh House presentation
• Trilogy at the Vineyards home development tour or presentation
• curbbrentwood.com presentation
• Civic Center tour or presentation
• Police presentation from the Police Activities League (PAL), SWAT team, or crime division
Based on this input, staff will work on scheduling the presentations or tours for 2011.

5. DISCUSSION ITEM: Update regarding the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event and task assignments for committee members. The committee discussed details for the event including various refreshment items that had been secured by Rick Fuller, where Santa Claus would be located, the singing groups that would be performing, crowd control issues, and assigned various tasks for each member for the night of the event. Staff Liaison Gary has requested the tree to be installed after the Thanksgiving holiday and will work on updating the banner used to advertise the event and have it installed at the corner of Griffith and Balfour. The group decided to meet at the Senior Center on November 15th to walk through the building to finalize the layout and flow for the event. Members were encouraged to find individuals to volunteer at the event since a lot of help is needed to put on the event.
