Minutes for March 11, 2009
Regular Meeting

CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m.

ROLL CALL: Steve Smith, Claudette Naturel-Staton, Cecilia Skuza, Cheryl Nickerson, Rick Fuller, and Staff Liaisons Barbie Gary and Michele Keady.

PRESENTATIONS: Berenice Arteaga, Senior Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Brentwood gave a presentation of the job details of Brentwood Code Enforcement personnel. Berenice showed the Committee photographs demonstrating various code violations that have occurred within the City.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Staff Liaison Barbie Gary stated that Brentwood’s Play City USA signs have now been installed.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Approve regular meeting minutes of February 11, 2009. Motion to approve the minutes made by Steve Smith and seconded by Cheryl Nickerson. Approved 5-0.

SCHEDULED MATTERS

2. DISCUSSION ITEM: Update from the City Wide Clean-Up day subcommittee.
Subcommittee will meet during the month and report back to BANC regarding its action plan for the City-wide Clean-Up day. Ideas for the Clean-up day range from graffiti removal to trash pick-ups around certain areas of the city.

3. ACTION ITEM: Establish a subcommittee and select members to plan the annual tree lighting event. Claudette Naturel-Staton nominated her husband to head the subcommittee to plan the annual tree lighting event. BANC members Cecilia Skuza, Rick Fuller and Claudette Naturel-Staton also volunteered to serve on the subcommittee.

4. ACTION ITEM: Selection of a Secretary.
Claudette Naturel-Staton nominated Rick Fuller for BANC Secretary. Cheryl
Nickerson second the motion. Rick Fuller accepted. Approved 5-0.

INFORMATIONAL REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS, SUBCOMMITTEES AND LIAISONS: None

STAFF COMMENTS: Staff Liaison Barbie Gary will notify BANC members via email if the Senior Center will be available for a tour by BANC and to hold the April 8th BANC meeting there.
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: City Wide Clean-up Subcommittee will report back at the next BANC meeting.

ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m. Motion made by Cecilia Skuza and seconded by Rick Fuller. Approved 5–0.
