SCHEDULED MATTERS:
2. DISCUSSION ITEM: Discuss the Liberty High School Arts and Humanities Academy utility box public art project. (P. Scherff/AHA)

Poldina Scherff introduced the item and two students from the Liberty High School Arts and Humanities Academy presented their three ideas for the utility box public art project.

Idea 1. Brentwood Orchards
Idea 2. Local Agriculture
Idea 3. Iconic Locations of Brentwood

The Commission decided they would like to move forward with idea 2 and to have this item come back as an action item at the next meeting in October.

3. DISCUSSION ITEM: Discuss possible public art project ideas for the downtown. (P. Scherff)

Councilmember Brockman came forth to let the Commission know he would like to see a clock in the downtown area as a possible public art project. He wanted to see this clock be placed in front of the Delta Theatre. He also suggested having a flowerbed around it and to have it have the more classical look.

The Commission discussed this possibility further as this was one of the ideas the Commission had entertained at an earlier meeting. Other ideas revisited included the silhouette figures and artistic bike racks.

COMMISSIONER COMMENTS:
Commissioner Koncher will be out on vacation for the October meeting. She also mentioned attending the Pageant of the Master back in August down at Laguna Beach. She visited their City Hall and was presented with a brochure that listed all the public art in the City and some information about the artist themselves. She thought this may be a good piece of information for us to hand out to visitors here at the City.
