Motion to approve item 3 on the consent calendar.
1. ACTION ITEM: Discuss and approve date for the unveiling of the poetry contest art element at Veterans Park. (P. Scherff)
Poldina Scherff, Recreation Manager, informed the Commission that the copper thief has struck again at Veterans Park. In preparation for the cameras to be installed new wiring was installed last week along with boring of holes for the poles to be installed. And this week in hopes of completing this project, it was found that the wires were removed and taken. In their haste of leaving the area quickly, they did leave a roll behind. A task force has been formed and will meet this coming Friday to see what can be done about this. Unfortunately, there will be a delay in putting in the cameras at this park.
With that being said, a date needs to be selected for the unveiling of the poetry contest art element. The following dates were available from the City Council office, April 20, April 26, or April 28. The Commission decided 4 pm would be ideal for this event.
Motion to approve April 26 at 4 pm as first choice and April 28 at 4 pm as second choice for the unveiling of poetry contest art elements at Veterans Park.
2. ACTION ITEM: Election of Officers. (P. Scherff)
Poldina Scherff, Recreation Manager, presented outgoing Chair Wanda Groseclose with a gift for her recent service as Chair.
Motion to approve Juan Castillo for Chair.
Motion to approve Danny Senn for Vice Chair.
